Linger In Shadows Clarification

Since my blog got a little popular last night after posting the vid captures of Linger in Shadows by Plastic [like, 1000+ visitors last night], I thought I’d clarify to all the gamers that got excited over it.

It’s a demoscene demo. It’s not a game and likely won’t be [and if it does have some interactive part, it won't be anything you're thinking]. Basicly a small movie of sorts made from the ground up [as in, own engine and effects code]. It was done by a few people from the demogroup Plastic. From what I understand, Sony paid them to do a demo for reasons not explained [being paid to do a demo is very rare in the demoscene, ussually demos are made to be entered in a competition or "for the fun of it", and sponsored demos like this create a lot of controvery in the scene].

And for those wondering what the storyline is, it’s what it appears it is. ;) There are various things in the demo that are hidden greets to other demogroups. [The panda for example]

Breakpoint was over. People are calling it the best breakpoint ever. I watched most of the party through the live stream, and it was indeed awesome.

In other news, I might not make it to Blockparty. I will try but things are coming up. I will be releasing though.

In Other News

The demo I’ve been working on with trailer park demos made a nice shift from openGL to DirectX due to pixel shader limits in openGL. Everything’s been converted in only a few days. How nice yes?

Anyway, I’ve been put on Particle System duty since I don’t have enough experience with DirectX yet, but plenty of math experience due to mis-spent time on a TI calculator during highschool math classes.

That’s likely all you’ll hear about that for now. :)
